Evaluation of Security procedures

I believe that security procedures was an extremely beneficial unit to learn as it provided a wealth of
new skills and knowledge that can be used and are relevant across multiple parts of life and different
careers meaning the skills and knowledge taught are flexible.

Knowledge like the PACE act and SECURITY INDUSTRY ACT are beneficial because not only does the
knowledge allow me to search individuals without worrying about where I stand on legislation it also
means I know what people can and can`t do when they search me and this therefore could be used
to protect myself. Skills like learning to search people, premises and property allow me to search and
with confidence people, premises and property. This skill means that I can search but also means
that I can better identify where people are likely to try and hide stuff, damage property etc.

Learning to search are essential and searching is essential in preventing the majority of issues at
many venues. On a daily basis searching is not perfect but it does prevent many issues and will find
most things. It is also clearly more effective to search individuals at a venue and try to prevent them
from causing any issues than to not search them and allow them to pass.

In the security industry searching is effective but not perfect, there is always some way to get
something passes someone and by sheer numbers stuff will get past searchers. However searchers
should search as they do discover a majority of stuff and clearly by searching there is some form of a
deterrent and people know that you will not allow them to have illegal stuff and that you want to
protect them in equal measure. Therefore the searching is essential in helping to prevent issues from
occurring and illegal stuff from getting through. So whilst searching has benefits like preventing
illegal stuff getting through, preventing issues and acting as a deterrent and has its weaknesses like
how it’s not perfect and relies upon the skill of the searcher searching is essential In trying to prevent
issues from occurring.
