Why you have chosen this syllabus type.
In order to properly meet the needs of my students, I have implemented a multi-syllabus strategy that enables me to
make use of a wide variety of teaching resources for a broad language learning experience. Rather than depending only
on a textbook, I can improve the learning experience by including a variety of authentic resources, like podcasts, web
pages, videos, and online articles. The objectives of each lesson and the overall course goals will be met by these
materials, which will be tailored to Alberto's interests. This strategy guarantees both personalised learning and
engagement. Alberto's speaking, listening, vocabulary, pronunciation, and reading skills will be the main areas of focus
for the course, as determined by the information obtained from the questionnaire and interview. These skills will be
refined in areas pertinent to his interests and career goals. By using a multi-syllabus method, we will be able to meet
Alberto's specific requirements and goals while promoting overall language development.
Why you have chosen the topic(s) covered.
I chose to cover a wide range of topics, including current affairs, travel, science/technology, and the environment.
These topics were carefully chosen after a thorough assessment of the needs and interests of the student was
conducted using the need analysis and interview. They also fit with Alberto's background in engineering. Discussing and
exploring these subjects in English will improve Alberto's language skills as well as his knowledge and understanding of
current events, travel and social scenarios and issues related to his line of work. This will enable him to keep up with
advancements in his profession and take part in meaningful conversations.
Why you have chosen this target language/skill.
The main language objectives and skills targeted for Alberto includes his speaking skills, pronunciation, listening skills,
vocabulary, and reading skills. I have chosen these language skills because they play a crucial role in facilitating effective
communication. By targeting these skills, it will enable Alberto to confidently express his ideas, understand and
appropriately respond to spoken English, and read technical texts with heightened accuracy and comprehension.
Furthermore, during the initial interview, Alberto demonstrated difficulties in both listening skills and pronunciation. As
a result, I have prioritised intensive speaking and listening tasks throughout the course to address and enhance these
