License Requirements? - Answer-either held a hunting license in a prior year or taken a
hunter safety course.

Native American Exception - Answer-Native Americans are exempt from the safety
course requirement for archery, crossbow and trapping

Military Exception - Answer-active-duty Armed Forces member stationed outside the US
who is home on leave is exempt from hunter, archery and crossbow safety
requirements if they can show proof at time of license application that their home state
of record is Maine

Resident (definition) - Answer-US citizen or non-citizen who has been domiciled in the
State for 1 year +: 1) is registered to vote, is registered in this state + 2) is license to
drive a motor vehicle, has made application for or possesses a Maine driver's license +
