Strengths & Improvements
Looking at the Health Screening test results of my participant, Kyrans, there isn’t a big
concern on his overall results especially the results of his Heart Rate being average at ‘70’
beats per minute and his Skinfold Test of Body Fat percentage of being 20.5%. The positive
impact of this is that, it reduces the risk of health conditions such as; diseases- major disease
such as; Coronary Heart disease. My client is quite healthy but, lives a healthy lifestyle,
exercising a few days a week at reasonable hours and doesn’t suffer from Medical problems,
although he did suffer from Asthma in the past which, may be considered as a problem and
is something to be aware of.
Firstly, Kyran’s Blood Pressure is very high. This is because both his diastolic and systolic
number is high. His systolic reading came out as a result of ‘178’ whilst measuring his blood
pressure when his heart is contracting which, is the top number. This is pressure during
contraction. Also, his diastolic reading resulted as ‘124’ whilst measuring his blood pressure
when at rest which, is the bottom number. The causes of Kyran to have high blood pressure
may be because of his inconsistent sleeping pattern and having an unhealthy or unbalanced
diet. However, looking at Kyran’s Health Screening Questionnaire, his sleeping pattern and
diet is what’s affecting his blood pressure. Kyran can improve his sleeping pattern by; eating
less salty foods and fast foods as he seems to eat that a lot, start eating healthily, for
example; he eats Oranges on an occasion however, he could perhaps improve by having his
5 a day to improve his diet also, to improve his sleeping pattern, he should do Aerobic
exercises such as; jogging and walking, working his legs and arms. So, he would make a plan
for his exercise, working at a low intensity than gradually increasing, start working for at
least 3 times a week, for an hour walk or jog. The impact of this is that, it replenishes the
body by a good balanced diet. Also, the specific exercise given is to assist his muscles and
joints to it being more supple. This is supporting his well-being on the long term but, this
means cane be a lot happier and get much better sleep.
A training principle that can apply to him is, specificity, making sure his exercises is specific
that will benefit him so, Kyran should avoid intensive exercises as, it will arise his blood
pressure. The implications of having a very high blood pressure can result to major damage
to your internal organs. This means it can stop blood supply to the heart muscle causing
Coronary Heart disease leading to; Heart Attacks, lack of function within the Heart and
Strokes which can tragically lead to death.
