D that best answers the question or completes the sentence according to information
in the text.
How to answer? - Answer-Here we'll demonstrate some basic skills to answer the
multiple choice questions.
Different types of questions - Answer-you may be asked to:
1- choose one answer. Example: choose the correct answer A, B, C or D
2- choose two answers. Example: choose TWO letters A-E
3- choose three answers. Example: which THREE opinions are mentioned by the
writer?
Skill 1: read the instructions - Answer-you've got to determine what type of question
you have to answer and whether you have to select one answer or more.
Skill 2: read the questions carefully - Answer-1- Determine whether you're asked to
complete a sentence OR answer a question.
2- Look at the language used in the question - it'll help you find the kind of
information you are looking for in the passage.
Examples:
a- words like "mainly, the main, usually, the majority, the most" are used to identify
the importance and even the most important thing.
b- words like "leads to, ensure that, means that, causes" are used to choose the
correct effect, outcome or consequence.
c- "the writer refers to, shows that, illustrates, an example of" are used to choose the
general point which the example refers to.
d- "in order to achieve/do something" is used to identify the best action for a certain
purpose.
e- "is used for, the main purpose of, the main use, is to" are used to identify the
purpose of an item.
f- "because, as a result of, is caused be" are used to choose main
g- "the writer's conclusion/opinion/purpose is best summarized as, the writer
concludes that, the writer believes that, the writer's main point is that" are used to
choose the writer's main opinion as mentioned in the passage.
