immigrants, but for the most part the US has been accepting of immigrants and
refugees searching for opportunity.
Women's movements - ANS-Women's movements and pushes for gender equality have
been prominent ever since after the civil war. Sparked largely by the reconstruction
amendments granting African Americans liberties, conventions and movement should
such as feminism have fought for and earned rights such as voting, property, and
privacy rights. Movements continue in modern days to find true equality.
Civil Rights movements - ANS-The beginnings of civil rights movement should were
rebellions for equality and freedom started by slaves before the civil war. Movements
such as these started the civil war, and granted rights such as freedom, citizenship,
suffrage, and so on. In the 20th century, civil rights movements for African Americans
fought for desegregation and true suffrage. Movements such as these continue in
modern times, such as black lives matter, to achieve complete racial equality.
Urbanization - ANS-Urbanization refers to the population shift from rural to urban areas,
"the gradual increase in the proportion of people living in urban areas", and the ways in
which each society adapts to the change.
Suburbanization - ANS-Is a population shift from central urban areas into suburbs,
resulting in the formation of urban sprawl.
Baby Boom - ANS-A temporary marked increase in the birth rate, especially the one
following World War 2.
