WGSS 200 Final
Intersectionality - ANS-Theoretical term used to discuss the interlocking systems of
oppression of gender, race, class, sexuality, age, ability, religion, and nationality that
shape people's experience and access to power.

Declaration of Sentiments - ANS-Drafted by Elizabeth Cady Stanton, which was
modeled after the Declaration of Independence, and was a statement of principles and
a list of injustices that resulted in women's oppression.

Daughters of Bilitis - ANS-The first lesbian civil rights organization in the US. While the

were prominent leaders in the abolitionist movement and the women's rights movement,
speakers and authors.

Social Constructionism - ANS-Theory that our knowledge of gender, race, class,

and therefore constantly being created and recreated by human beings within specific
cultural contexts.

Postfeminism - ANS-How everyday people assume that gender equality and justice has
been achieved and, within feminist media studies, the ways in which media appropriates
