P7- Stage an event, demonstrating some relevant
management skills.
In this document, I will be demonstrating what happened to the event and how we
used our management skills to be successful.
At the start of the event, we decided to make a contract of agreement between our
team leader and each member, where it showed that we must attend the event at the
right time. This allowed us to ensure that every member was partaking the event and
no areas have been neglected.
The whole team prepared the venue with mantles, sitting areas and organised
accessories, which customers found it presentable and attractive. We also led them
where to sit and which tables they could use while waiting to be serviced.
Through selling the product, I used my good communication skills and strong
personality skills to explain the purpose and the benefits of it. I also discussed the
price of the product and talked to them thoroughly until they felt satisfied. As the
excellent customer service is necessary, we had a strategic plan to look after all the
needs of customers and serviced them in the appropriate method, which are:
• Being polite and came at the right time.
• I made our customers feel welcome by greeting them good morning, good
afternoon, hi and hello.
• I also responded to all the enquiries, listed to all the customers, and answered the
questions.
• I used appropriate and quite formal languages.
The whole team also helped to assure that every aspect of the event has been
double checked, including ESTATES who lent us the chairs, tables, securities,
cleaners, and the venue.
Regarding health and safety regulation and security, we considered letting people in
our team to recognise the healthy measures, which involved the nearest fire exit and
provided hazard sign on the wet floor. At the beginning of our event, a verbal
notification has been given to those who attended and helped them to know what
and where to go if the emergency happens.
By way of communicating with an internal and external audience, our team came to
a resolution that we must talk while planning and stage the event. We used the
method of a small meeting to update all members that one of us sold the product and
the quantities left. Whilst, we and other people did a word-of-mouth promotion.
Attendee evaluation
After the event, we asked all the attendees to fill up a short form which they had to
give feedbacks and recommendations about our event. This involved the areas of
improvement as well as been handed out personally.
