• For your third assignment, you will be required to write a research proposal on the topic:
The interplay between parenting styles, children’s prosocial behaviour, and perceived
neighbourhood characteristics.
• Introduce the concepts of parenting styles, children’s prosocial behaviour, and perceived
neighbourhood characteristics and provide an overview of the core aspects of these
concepts as discussed in the literature.
• Outline and synthesize previous research on parenting styles, children’s prosocial
behaviour, and perceived neighbourhood characteristics.
• Derive at least one research hypothesis from your literature review that addresses the
interplay between parenting styles, children’s prosocial behaviour, and perceived
neighbourhood characteristics and outline in detail how you will study it.
• The proposal should not exceed ten (10) pages (excluding the front page, table of contents,
and references).
