What are Exam Preparations?
Exam preparations are end of semester PALS workshops, focused on exam preparation
and review. They are peer-led and activity-based. The peer leaders act as facilitators,
not tutors or lecturers.
What is PALS?
PALS – Peer Assisted Learning Sessions – is an academic assistance program, that offers
weekly peer-assisted workshops to all students enrolled in a PALS supported unit. The
peer leaders are students who have previously performed well in the unit, been selected,
and undergone PALS training. Leaders act as model students and facilitate student
learning through involving students in group activities and discussions designed to
integrate how to learn with what to learn, as well as focus on students’ needs.

The activities in this pack are not intended to cover everything you might be tested on in
this unit. Peer leaders have created the activities, in most cases, not the unit convenor.
