History:

Aston Martin was founded in 1913 by Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin. The
word Aston in the name comes from Aston Hill, because Martin competed in hill
climb races. After the First World War, Auston Martin made racing cars. In 1924
the brand went bankrupt, and owner Lionel Martin left. A group of wealthy
investors took over the brand and focused on producing cars on the normal road.
The peak was in 1964 when the DB5 was used in the James Bond movie. In the
later films, James bond also drove the brand. In 1987 Ford became a 75% owner of
Aston Martin, later they bought all the shares. The takeover of Ford made them
produce more and more cars. In 2003 the company announced that they would
return to racing named “Aston Martin Racing”.

F1 Team: Aston Martin not only makes sports cars but also has a formula one team. Aston Martin F1
drove them first Grand Prix in 1959.

The coureurs that F1 Aston Martin have are Lance Stroll (Canada) and Fernando Alonso (Spain).
