,Learning aim B: Develop a plan to use social media in a
business to meet requirements

Introduction
I am going to create a social media page for a Car garage business based in Dubai, UAE. In
this plan I am going to be creating a few social media accounts for the related business and
show how I will advertise different products and services that relate to customer needs and
wants. The social media that I will use to show this business are going to be Instagram,
Twitter and Snapchat. These social media are all free to use, are easy to set up and
advertise different business ideas. I will show the whole process of creating each account,
setting up followers, a profile and much more. Posting pictures and videos will also be shown
as this is the key aspect for a business to grow in popularity.

I will be making a full plan, documenting the whole process using images to create
something that would be used by a business in Dubai. Car garage businesses are very
popular in Dubai due to people having many personal cars that they use every day.
Therefore showing people what we do using social media will make them come to us and
not any other business. I will also highlight the advantages and disadvantages of using
social media to advertise the business and explain the problems I may face during this
process. After I have created the first few social media sites I will post the first few pictures
and try to grow the profiles.

On the 20th of march I met with the owner of the car garage which is named Palm Autos.
They specialise in car design, services and repairs. I went down there to talk to the owner
about what the plan was for the business going forward. Therefore I will explain all that has
been talked about below in the planning process. They have agreed on a two month period
where I will post almost daily giving customers the best pictures and videos which may
entice them to come and look at the garage. I will also be replying to customer feedback and
questions they may have.

B2 International business requirements

Social media planning process
I will start the social medias by creating two different social medias being Instagram and
Facebook, this is because due to younger people mainly using instagram will mean i am less
likely to attract customers as they may not have cars, Therefore if i do Facebook as well it
opens up the business to a wider audience. The business requirements are to let people
know that this business is around and does exist, advertise products and services and share
their USP to people looking for a place to replace parts on their car. Therefore before this i
would need to plan for content such as taking photos and videos for both the social media
pages. I will do this by going down to the garage and taking photos of their machines, car
lifts and pictures of the whole garage itself to gather primary photos. This allows people to
see the garage before they come down and use the garage facilities. To ensure that

, customers are fully engaged with the business I will constantly upload photos and videos
onto instagram and its story option. This will show customers what is happening on a daily
basis and will ensure they understand and trust the garage to handle their car with care.
Therefore due to this being a business, it will grow and get a large amount of followers
eventually, therefore I will ensure that I also follow all rules and regulations in regards to the
social media website and also UAE which is where the business will be based.

Creating an online community is important for the business if they want to succeed in the
social media world as having people that support and reshare a business context is crucial
for the spreading of the businesses name. Therefore also ensuring social media policies is
also important as mentioned before. Therefore a business has to protect itself from hackers
and viruses when using social media to ensure that it is not easy for anyone to hack into
their account and steal personal and private information about them.

Working with a client to set requirements for the use of social media and
the potential benefits for business when compared to traditional
promotion methods.
Working with clients will potentially benefit the business in different ways rather than just
using normal promotional methods. Working together with clients may make people feel
different about the business as they show that the business cares and takes care of their
customers through working with them. Therefore things such as listening to customers,
responding to feedback and having good communication with them will benefit them. This
will ensure that brand loyalty is used within their customers base by making sure they come
back each time they have a problem with their car. Therefore working with customers by
customising cars which are personally directed to that customer will see that business is
understandable and easy with their work as they can do whatever a customer wants. This
can be shown on their instagram on their posts that could show personalised special cars
which are then seen by other people who may want to do that. Therefore compared to other
businesses using the traditional advertising methods, doing this may make other people
want to come to them due to them doing specific modifications and being different in
general.

Establishing timescales and responsibilities for the use of social media
within a business.
Timescales and responsibilities when using social media are very important for a car garage
business to understand and take into consideration as constantly posting is needed to be
able to grow and gain customer satisfaction. Therefore managing time is important, a
solution for this could be that they hire an employee that is tasked to only run the social
media by posting, commenting and interacting with customers who may have questions or
enquiries. Furthermore managers have to ensure that I am posting regularly and ensuring
that we are posting relatable content that will attract customers to come and visit the garage.
