Greetings to everybody, I`m Jakes. I`m thrilled that I could be part of this journey. As
I`m a student teacher, I studying everything there is to know about becoming the
greatest teacher I can be. I`m enthusiastic about ISC3701 and I can’t wait to impart
what I`ve learned. Teaching is a fantastic method to encourage learners’ creativity
and critical thinking. It was and is exciting seeing how creative ideas come to life,
and that we could learn, laugh, and cry together.


TEACHING STATEMENT
Education is a dynamic, transformational activity that encourages critical thinking,
creativity, and curiosity. As a future Creative Arts teacher, I base my teaching on the
belief that, in the correct setting, any learner can develop and express themselves.
My goal is to establish a classroom that is learner-centred, where learners feel
appreciated, respected, and inspired to discover their own abilities.


Three main tenets of my teaching approach are reflection, inclusion, and active
learning. I encourage experimentation and teamwork among my learners by
including them in practical tasks. Through the application of theory to practice, this
experiential method increases learners’ comprehension of the creative process. In
addition, I respect inclusion and work to use tailored education to suit the various
needs of my learners. To ensure that every learner has an equal chance to succeed,
this entails providing a variety of opportunities for learners to interact with the
material and demonstrate their understanding.


My teaching philosophy is central on reflective practice. I urge learners to develop
objectives for themselves, reflect critically on their educational experiences, and
evaluate their progress on a regular basis. As a teacher, I also evaluate my own
approaches, asking for feedback often and modifying my plans to help learners
advance.


Constructivist ideas, especially Vygotsky`s sociocultural approach, which highlights
the importance of social interaction in leaning, are the foundation of my teaching. I
also use Gardner`s idea of many intelligences to help me create courses that
accommodate various learning preferences.


To sum up, as a teacher, I want to encourage a love of learning and creativity while
also assisting each learner in reaching their own learning objectives. By means of
initiative-taking involvement, diversity, and introspection, my objective is to enable
learners to develop into self-assured, enduring scholars.
