Leadership in sport is considered as one person being able to able to process of behavioural that can
be influencing other induvial and maybe groups towards set goals. The reason that leadership
important aspect in sport because it can create effective groups. Which can make team perform at a
really high level if the leader is really good and the way that the leader can achieve this is by having
the passion and be capable to inspire other people in the team.
For example, Rickey Hatton is a boxing coach he would train groups of professional boxers in order
to prepare them for boxing competitions. So he would be a leader for athletes so that then he could
train them up to great level but he achieved this because he had good qualities such as patience,
self-discipline, intelligence, and confidence. This is because he was himself a professional boxer
which he learned being self-disciplined. After all, he had to make weights for fights so he needs to
control his diet, he was also an intelligent fight if he knew he was going to lose the fight in a distance
he would try come close in to get his opponent in the body and he did which gave him victory’s in his
fights which gave him big boost of confidence. after being a professional boxer for over 15 years
which he has learned a lot about the sport thanks to this he knows what boxing is like and knows,
what it is also from doing it himself for so many years he has experience and managed to get great
knowledge about boxing industry and the sport which makes him intelligent. Thanks to this he
makes a really good leader because other fighters look up to him with big respect and as a role
model which gives him a big advantage of being a good leader when coaching groups of boxers.
He is patience which his athlete that he trains because he was at that stage as a professional boxer
and knows that he trains other boxers. Which is why he is patience with others because it is a
stepping stone for them. Which is why you must have patience when training others. So that you
would not stress athletes if they do something wrong when training and learning.
Advantages if you know your people on the team athletes and you can have the conversation with
them to see how they are doing which can show that you care about them. However, Ricky Hatton
he dedicated his life for boxing which is why it is important so important because it shows how
passionate he is about boxing and form this he was able to inspire others because of it. Which made
him a good leader and also gave him a good start as being a coach and a great leader.
Disadvantages if the leader is a bad one or not as affective leader he can affect the performance of
the team, the way that this can happen maybe by having a bad relationship with the player(athletes)
on the team. Which don’t look up at the leader which could affect the leader being able to lead the
team to win.
Without leadership, no person could lead a team in sport because he would not be able to give the
order on what people must also he would not be able to motivate athletes to do well which means
that the athletes would keep on perform poorly. After all, they have no guidance on what they must
when they are playing sports.
Social Loafing
Social loafing is a person or an individual that is putting less effort that is in a group with other
people that they are in a group with. Which results in that one person exerting less effort to achieve
a goal when they work In groups which results in the person putting 100 percent less effort in the
group, than when working alone which you put more effort. An example of this could at group
project which may not do much work, or in a group when playing football or training which they will
