MCPHS Mock Interview Questions And
100% Correct Answers

At MCPHS University, we are looking for students who have a genuine interest in the
medical field. What interests you most about working in a pharmacy setting, and why? -
Response There were many reasons that developed my interest in the field of pharmacy.
The reason I chose Pharmacy as my main major is that it provides me with an
opportunity to help other people with their pains and diseases, as I believe that
everybody deserves the best care and best medicine, while still being in an environment
that is fast-paced. Working at a pharmaceutical company is a major driver toward
making me want to work in pharmacy. Since I started working in the field, I developed a
soft spot for pharmaceuticals, but I then realized I wanted more to do with people than
with the laboratory part. I realized that being a pharmacist allowed me to work in
healthcare and at the same time watch my mom grow up as a nurse. It showed me that
being compassionate towards other people, and helping them in whatever way one
could, was the most rewarding thing she ever had. Mom being a nurse - knew I wanted
to work in healthcar

College- had a love for chemistry and how things worked and reacted with one another

Example Answer

There are a number of factors that fuel my interest in a career in medicine. If I had to
name one primary driver, I'd say it's helping others in chronic pain or debilitating
disease. Everyone has a right to access major medicine, and I mean to live that mantra
by being the best at what I do, giving it my all every day for my patients or customers.

A very significant motivational factor toward joining the profession of pharmacy is that it
is a helping profession. Ever since I was a little boy, I have been inspired by my
neighborhood pharmacist. Indeed, he was such a smart, humble, and amiable person
who cured so many people in my community. I was always struck by his happy spirit; it
was as if he knew the impact he made. I too would like to feel the gravity and fulfillment
of helping others. To say that I have a passion for medicine would be a

, MCPHS University has to be very cautious in choosing the applicants. What would you
do if you are not accepted into pharmacy this year? - Response If I am not accepted into
your pharmaceutical program, I would continue working at Mallinkcrodt
Pharmaceuticals and upgrade the courses needed to further improve my application
when I apply to the program next year. I will not take it as my final answer.

Example:

"In the event that I am not selected for this year's pharmacy, I will prepare as best I can
to increase my chances for the following year. I will go to Post-Bacc Programs to
improve my GPA and research relevant educational avenues that would be suitable for
my goal. An initial rejection would not detract me from applying again and fighting for
it."

"Should I not get accepted into your pharmaceutical program the first time, I do plan on
reapplying the following year. I'd take that time to upgrade any necessary courses and
prepare an even more well-rounded application. I'm sure my goal in life is to become a
pharmacist, and I certainly won't take one rejection as a final answer."

In your opinion, what do you think is the most worrisome problem pharmacists have to
deal with today? - Answer make sure you ask the interviewers what they personally see
as the most concerning issue in the field of pharmacology today.

example:

I believe the most worrying aspect of the pharmaceutical industry is the constant
increase in the prices of drugs. The best medications should be available to anyone and
everyone, regardless of the person's financial or social background, and big pharma
has been more and more frequently creating drugs and then pricing them so high that
they are unreachable to most. What do you feel is the most concerning aspect in facing
the pharmaceutical industry today?

The most alarming issue, according to me, for pharmacists as of today is employment
reduction because of technology advancement. "Pharmacies can all turn into online
prescriptions and reduce their desired workforce, thus making their employment pool a
very competitive one.
