Provision of exercise for specific groups
People with disabilities:
People that have disabilities they can still take part in physical activity, for example, they can
do boccia in Lakes College where they do boccia class, they are cheap classes therefor it is
affordable. Which allows people with disabilities to take part in physical activity.
Equipment that would be provided for people with disability is the sports hall that they can
do the boccia game and the equipment that would be needed for boccia, for example,
chairs, balls, ramps so that the games could happen.
The person that takes these types of the class will be a staff member of the gym and one of
the roles would be to deliver a session such as boccia. However, for the staff that is going to
be delivering the session will need to have a qualification such as level 1 / level 2 certificate
in coaching boccia in order to deliver a session by himself without anyone help.
This type of activities and delivering of coaching would be public as the coach does not
charge for the class, also the class is very cheap and everything is provided for them. Which
means that the sports facility and the class will be public as it is not expensive.
Strength and disadvantages:
Strength:
Meeting new people within the same local area or even with other people, be a great
benefit for the people with disabilities as they are going to be going out and socialise with
one another and other people around them. Instead of being with the same people all the
time that may not show as much support or could relate with. This will allow gaining new
friends and when meeting new people, it will allow you to build new skills such as
confidence and communication which later can be used in different places.
Disadvantages:
People with disabilities will find it harder to do some physical activity as some may not be
working, therefore keeping up with each cost or even classes and session can be a problem.
Because they will lack in funding.
Even if there are offers in some places that are available for people with disabilities, they
will still have a disadvantage because some may live away far from the local club or a sports
centre. Which can prevent them from participating because they would after pay also for
travelling to which can influence them on not taking part in physical activity.
Children:
There are a lot of types of activity’s that children, can do however they must rely on their
parents at times and sometimes parents can’t support them. Therefore, there are clubs that
don’t require any funding which means that children can attend clubs without worrying
