• Tesla, Inc. is an American vehicle and energy company based in Palo Alto, California.
The company specialises in electric car manufacturing and solar panel
manufacturing. Tesla wanted to prove that people didn’t need to compromise to
drive electric – that electric vehicles can be better, quicker and more fun to drive
than gasoline cars. Tesla believes the faster the world stops relying on fossil fuels
and moves towards a zero-emission future, the better.
• They have been open for over 15 years and over the first 5 years they were building
and planning cars as eventually ‘The Roadster’ was released in 2008. This was their
first car which was also electrical that sold for around $100,000.
• The Tesla name originally comes from Nikola Tesla who was an inventor that worked
with electricity. They have developed their work based on his ideas as well as that
of Edison. Through this, you can see that the ideas of Tesla Inc. are mainly based
around electricity.
