adjustable by the pilots because the aural warning system does not go through the
volume control switches.

With the radio transmit (R/T) - intercom (l/C) switch in the l/C position, where can your
intercom transmission be heard? - answer At all interior and exterior interphone
units.

What is the purpose of the VOICE/BOTH switch? - answer BOTH allows the pilot to
hear the Morse code and voice messages from the station. VOICE filters out the Morse
code so only the voice message can be heard.

Where is the observer overhead speaker located? - answer The observer seat does
not have a speaker therefore the observers audio control panel speaker knob is
inoperative.

Explain the EMER/NORM switch on the ACPs. - answer When there is a failure of
the audio integrating system, the EMER position should be selected. This causes the
electronic circuits of the audio integrating system to be bypassed and most of the ACP
functions
will be inoperative. If the pilot were to select EMER, his headset will be directly
connected to NAV 1 and VHF 1. The aural warning system will be operable.
If the co-pilot selects EMER, his headset is connected directly to NAV 2 and VHF 2. All
ACP services are lost except for NAV 2 and VHF 2.
The switch on the observer's ACP is disabled.

Explain the public address system (PA) priority. - answer 1. Pilots

Pilots can override the FAs PA.

How do you adjust the speaker volume in the cabin, lavatory and galley? - answer It
is adjusted automatically based on the background noise. It is at full volume when the
