Citizenship and diversity

Citizenship is the state of being gifted with rights, privileges and duties of

a citizen, or a member of society who behaves in a respectable manor

and treats everyone equal. No matter race, ethnicity or sexuality, and

citizen is a person who lives in their place of residence, but you can

become a British citizen if you are not from the UK. You may be eligible

if:

 You have a British parent

 You have another type of British nationality

 You do not have a nationally of any country (stateless)

 You have previously given up your citizenship

 You were born in the UK, but your parents aren't from the UK you

could be eligible to be a British citizen.

 You have been married to a British citizen for the last 3 years

But there is a criteria you must follow upon becoming a British citizen you

have to:

 Be 18 years of age

 Have a sound mind: you have no mental health concerns and

that you are not going to do anything stupid like a terrorist attack.

 Be a good character: have no criminal record or any prison time

,  Knowledge of the language: so you can read your bills that come

through the door or that you write a cv out

 Five years in the UK: this is in place as if you have been in

the UK for 6 months you could get you citizenship then go back to your

original country

If you are eligible for a citizenship, there is a 6 month process you will

need to go through. Which will include several different parts, but the

main ones are the application process, the test to see if you know enough

about the UK and the history. you will need 18/24 to pass and be allowed

to live in the UK, and the last step is when your collecting

your certificate you have to say the oath or the affirmation of

allegiance to her majesty the queen and the pledge of loyalty to the

United Kingdom this a formal promise to her majesty the queen.

The public services view on citizenship is helpful. As the citizens that

report crimes or being witnesses, but the biggest one is the

specials. These are the voluntary police, they do around 4 hours a week

and have the same powers of normal police, but they don’t get paid. So,

this helps the police out as they have more men and women. As well if

everyone were a good citizen the police would have no job to

do. So, the more, good citizens the better.
