Could I be an event organiser?

Introduction
In this assignment I’m going to talk about the roles and skills is required for an event planner.
Also explain them and why it is important.
After that I will have to investigate my own skills in some kind of a skills audit. And then analyse it,
which I will do all of this in a table.
For the last part I will have to justify how my won skills match with an event planner.

P1. Explain the role and skills required to be an effective events planner.

To organise and running an event is very important and can be hard to organise.
Therefore there is a person who organise and runs the whole event and are responsible for it. By
event it can mean, wedding, meeting, reunion, sports event etc.
To become and event planner is not as easy as it sounds like. It takes time and thoughts.
An event planner must meet with the customers to understand the purpose of the event or
whatever it is to start with. What the goals and ideas are with the event, what the budget is, what
kind of food, the date and time, how many guests, the location the client wants the event to be
placed, review places to confirm they meet the clients requirements and then the planner has to
visit the chosen place so that the planner can insure that it meets the requirements and safety
standards. The planner has to review event bills and accept payments etc.
Also how much the clients wants the planner to be involved in the event.
Basically an event planner is in charge of everything that is going to happen from the start of the
event to the end of it. Planner has to make sure that everything is organised and aware of the health
and safety and that the event gets completed as it was planned and everyone gets satisfied.

To organise and run an event is very important and hard. To plan this event you must use
the six planning skills carefully and use them to make the event successful. The skills are
following:
 Organising
 Problem solving
 Time managing
 Negotiating
 Communicating
 Interpersonal

Organising and being organised is very important while running the event, because the planner has
to make sure that everything is going as it should be, everything is in time, all the documents
distributed and keep every little details and everything else running smoothly and without problems.
