Features contributing to the success of contrasting businesses
Features of Tesco and the British Heart Foundation:
The different types of features Tesco have is its business ownership is a public limited
company meaning that people outside the business can always buy Tesco shares if they are
18 and older.
Tesco’s other big contrasting feature towards other businesses is that Tesco has its own
factory which most business do not own even if their as big as Tesco in the UK. This is what
makes Tesco so different to other business that is also a public limited that would sell a lot
of different types of products and services.
In contrast, the feature of the British Heart Foundation that makes this business different
then Tesco is that this business is not under any type ownership and /or shareholder but
instead works as not for profit corporations. This would mean that they would not declare
their stock when established unlike Tesco.
Another feature the BHF have is that their scope of their business is making sure that their
scientist and researchers finds cures and treatments for many types of heart and circulatory
diseases.
The scope of Tesco as another feature is that they are planning to expand to the US in the
future since they already have a wide market in Europe and Asia.
The British heart foundation size would be considered Big as they have employee
numbering around 3000 in the UK and the same could be said to Tesco as they have an
Employees around 420,000 and 7000 stores worldwide.

How the two business are influenced by the stakeholders:
First, stakeholders are important to many kinds of businesses because it give businesses a
practical and financial support to them. Stakeholders are basically people that are interested
in a successful business which can range from employee to customer which are both
internal and external stake holders.
The differences between internal and external stakeholders are that internal are the people
inside your business that are interested like the mangers etc. And external are people from
outside the business that are also interested to your business
Stake holders can also massively influence businesses in a way that can change its branding,
aims and/or objective which I will explain below.

, Most of Tesco stakeholders are
 Customers
 Creditors
 Suppliers
 Competitors
 And the government
Which are external and most of Tesco internal stakeholder are
 Employee
 Manager
 Board
 Executive committee
 Shareholders
All of Tesco stakeholders are important but there some stakeholders that holds more power
than the other which can also influence the whole business direction and objective. For
example, the chairman, directors, and other executive chart the overall business strategic
direction of the company, however those internal shareholders must get approved by the
other shareholders that could also influence the business that are mostly external. For
instance, if Tesco made a major change in its direction, and the external shareholders who
mostly comprises of customer that would disagree with its change, it would negatively
affect the business by seeing a decrease of sales revenue in Tesco which is what the
business is trying to avoid.
Another way stakeholder can influence Tesco business is that some external stakeholders
like customer or its competitors can give Tesco more ideas that can help make the business
do those appreciate changes that the customers want that could improve Tesco in multiple
ways like having more sales revenue or having more positive customer review.
The British heart foundation does not have as much employee or customer then Tesco, but
it still has a lot of stakeholders that can influence the charity business which are
 Board of trustees- the board of trustees is typically the governing body of an
organization and seeks to ensure the best interest of stakeholders in all types of
management decisions.
 Corporate partners-a kind of partnership between a fundraiser company and a
commercial entity where the commercial entity provides money, skills or other
resource to the fundraising organisations.
 Customers- the customer wants business to produce quality products at the
reasonable price. The BHF has many different types of customer including the young,
the old, loyal, families etc. They could massively influence the BHF as the money they
would give to the company will be donated towards a particular cause.
