How did the LON respond to the Upper Silesia border dispute of 1920?
Both Germany and Poland coveted the area of Upper Silesia, which had a lucrative iron and steel industry and contained many of each country's ethnic people. The League held a plebiscite to let the people decide which country they wanted to be a part of and sent troops to maintain order at polling booths. The League split the area according to the votes (industrial areas to Germany, agricultural areas to Poland). Germany and Poland were not satisfied with this but accepted it nonetheless
