To use a BJT as a switch in a light control circuit

The base of a BJT is connected to the input signal, the emitter to ground, and the collector to the light source in order to use it as a switch in a light control circuit. The light source is turned on when the input signal is high, which activates the transistor and causes current to flow through it. Low input signal levels cause the transistor to turn off, cutting off current to the light source and turning it off.

How do you find the gain of an inverting amplifier?
ANSWER
-Rf/Rin
How does a diode work?
ANSWER
Using doped silicon, you can create a p-n junction which, when a voltage is applied in
forward bias, the electrons are pushed over the depletion region of the p-n junction and
the current will flow. When in reverse bias, the depletion region is pulled apart as the ptype is connected to the negative side voltage and vice versa. No current will flow.
