New born baby Lily is already aware of how to suck, as part of the reflexes, Lily is born with the
rooting reflex which allows Lily to find the nipple immediately. Lily can teethe from 2+ months. By 5
months Lily can express herself with affection by giving hugs and kisses. At 6 months Lily can roll
over, her hand control is developing. At 7 months Lily can sit unsupported. At 8 months, Lily can
crawl. By 12 months Lily will be able to walk. At 2 years old, Lily is now becoming more independent.
She will be able to master speaking three-word sentences or more as her language development is
increasing rapidly by now. Now Lily is 3 she is now able to do things such as getting dressed and
feeding herself.



Childhood 4-9 years

At age 4 Lily’s practical abilities continue to develop. She will be able to climb steps and run. Lily will
have lost a lot of baby fat between this time. At 4 Lily has improved hand eye coordination, she
starts to develop muscles, bones grow bigger as she grows and the growth of internal organs are
enhancing. Lily can kick and throw a ball. At the age of 6 Lily’s head will be 90 per cent of the adult
size even though the head still has to undergo growth. She can skip and ride a bike. Lily’s appetite
increases between 7 – 9 years. At 8-9 Lily’s fine motor skills improve as there is more concentration
in areas of painting, handwriting and drawing.
