I will be creating an e-commerce website that allows a local artist to promote their paintings and other
artwork online. This will allow them to sell their art to a wider audience as anyone from around the world will
be able to access it at any time (24/7). The purpose of this website is to promote and sell artwork from a
local artist, who has limited knowledge of online stores and websites. This in turn will allow for a wider
reach to people from around the world that want to access the artist’s work at any time in the day.
Project objectives:
The website aims to promote the artists paintings and other artwork through an online store. The website
should work efficiently without any faults, so that the customers can use it. It is also necessary to discuss
alternative options with the client so that they can make their own choices and know that there are other
options, which may be more suited to them. The implementation of the client’s decision will also have to be
planned and the project will have to be carried out to conclusion with the project team. It is then a
requirement to evaluate the outcome of the project whether the outcome was expected or not. If the project
is successful than the artist should be able to reach a wider audience through the website. The website will
contain an online store, which allows people from any location to access the artists’ products anytime.
Project closure synopsis:
The project has achieved the following original objectives:
PID Objective 1:
To create a fully functioning website that advertises the artists’ artwork; this website will also contain an
online store that allows customers to purchase the artists’ products.
PID Objective 2:
The website will allow for a wider reach to people from around the world that want to access the artist’s
work at any time in the day (24/7) rather than just the local people that artist previously acquired business
from.
The project has not achieved the following original objectives:
PID Objective 3:
The project has achieved all of the original objectives set.
PID Objective 4:
The project has achieved all of the original objectives set.

PID Objective 1:
To create a fully functioning website that advertises the artists’ artwork; this website will also contain an

PID Objective 2:
The website will allow for a wider reach to people from around the world that want to access the artist’s

from.
PID Objective 3:
We must create the website whilst keeping all the risks and consequences to a minimum, by sticking to
allocated time frames, budgets etc. This ensures the client is happy with our services and we, nor the
client, have to pay any extra fees or time that was not initially agreed to.
Outstanding objectives:
The following objectives are still being worked on, or have been agreed as not being achieved:
PID Objective 1:
As the product was rushed towards the end, we have not had time to test it once more. Therefore as an
outstanding object, the product tester will have to test the website once more to filter out any minor
functionality problems that may have been missed.
PID Objective 2:
There are no more outstanding objectives.
