In the organisational context, the industry which functioned for constructing, repairing,
maintaining, and renovating infrastructures is defined as the construction industry (Bullivant
& Carley, 2015). In nature, construction industry is a specific industry in the business era.
Construction and renovation are primary functions of the construction industry in the built
environment. In performing at the built environment, the construction industry is required to
comply with statutory and legal requirements. In nature, the industry managed construction
projects where to make the projects of construction lawful the task of the industry is to meet
legal requirements and statutory needs. Health and Safety at Work Act of 1974 is an example
of the construction law and according to the law the legal accountability of the construction
industry is to develop a safe working environment for the workers (Gilbert, 2008). In the
construction industry, different stakeholders are included in the construction projects.
According to the Construction Regulations of 2015, the construction industry is legally
accountable to define legal responsibilities of the construction project stakeholders (Joyce,
2015). So that the project stakeholders can meet the legal responsibilities and the construction
project can be lawful. Their various legislations are available for the construction industry
like Construction Regulations of 2015 and Health and Safety at Work Act of 1974. The
primary duty of construction industry is to follow various legislations and to meet statutory
requirements so that legal challenges can be overlooked in the construction project.

The rationale for the report is to determine and investigate various statutory and legal
requirements for the construction industry so that a productive knowledge can be developed
on the legislations which are necessary to comply with in the construction projects. Ensuring
health and safety in the construction working environment is the primary legal duty for the
industry and the report will define various factors which will help the industry in completing
the legal duty. The report will consider a case study to define various construction tools and
techniques which are necessary to adopt in the project to turn the project lawful and
successful. In addition, to explore the tort law concept a case study will be applied by the
report. Finally, adjudication concept is defined by the report in an organised way.
