A great introduction to the very complex idea of special relativity. The trick is not to solve problems based off of logic, but simply getting the hang of manipulating the question to gain clues. It stars off with basic Galilean Transformations and then leads to the familiar Lorentz transforms. The idea of simultaneity, where it cannot be possible in two different frames of reference will also be discussed. While time and length don’t appear the same at really high speeds, all observers agree ...
For those who did not feel comfortable in classical mechanics during A levels or any equivalent, this set of lecture notes helped me immensely. Typical examples include circular disks, and rods.
This is a good set of notes introducing students to the basic concepts of quantum mechanics without delving into the complex reasonings behind why things happen as they do. We start off with time independence and the schrödinger equation, parity and the infinite square well all the way to the 3D versions and the concepts of perturbation theory and identical particles.
These are the notes that helped me secure a first in the module. The key trick is to go through past papers and any tutorials the lecturers give you. I’m hoping all of you have the best of luck passing a similar module!
