Introduction

The report identifies and portrays how the issues from corporate social responsibility
affect the stakeholders of Businesses. The stakeholders who are Shareholder, Employee,
Supplier, Customer, Local community and Government. They can be internal and
external. The group or individual has an interest in the company also the outcomes of
the company's actions.

Corporate social responsibility is a business concept which is to do with companies and
how committed they are to run their business but do this in an ethical form. The
importance of this being, managing the business however at the same time focusing on
other factors such as the environmental, economic and social impact. Taking into
account human rights which is important in the business sector. The CSR covers many
issues such as preventing corruption, human rights, the environment, gender equality
and the working conditions. Environment, the management has aims to improve the
impact of business on the environment. Doing this by using environmentally friendly
strategy with closed cycles and having a plan that consists of ways to reduce harmful
effects happening to the environment. Human rights, the priority of the enterprise

, management is to respect the human rights and using the due diligence that helps to
notice any effects that are causing an issue so they can be reduced immediately. The
working conditions, to ensure there are high quality jobs it is crucial to not have in place
any form of forced Labour, ensuring there is no employee discrimination. Gender quality,
by avoiding any type of discrimination towards employees and following the principle of
gender equality in employment. The equal pay is also key in gender equality.

Tesco plc is a British company which sells general merchandise and also is a
multinational groceries retailer. The business has shops in five different countries. Also
known as the third largest retailer in the world. This store is a market leader of
groceries. CSR can cause issues for businesses and its stakeholders. As customers could
be affected and this resulting in a negative impact for the business because customers
are most important to them. With Tesco, the company keeps a price checker and the
prices are kept relatively low, compared to the other retailers such as Sainsburys, Asda
and many more. By doing this it means the stakeholders are left satisfied and they’re
getting good value for what they are purchasing which is an advantage. The business is
affected by CSR issues as if the firm had no value at all, no investors would decide to
invest in the firm and it would then bring the company down. However, on the plus side
it is beneficial that Tesco plc donates a percentage of the pre-tax to charities and it is a
positive attribute so stakeholders are more likely to invest in the firm with knowing this
information. It attracts more of the stakeholders and the company is also able to grow
this way. The CSR is also linked with the supplier's position and what the relationship is
between the firm and supplier. If there was a weak relationship between the both it
would not be a good outcome, having a bad relationship will result in the firm being
affected negatively. Stakeholders then not being pleased with the food; it will be
damaging for the Tesco. It is positive for the company that they do have a good
relationship with its supplier and the supplier's team is known as the Tesco supplier
network. The firm then is able to attract customers who are satisfied with this.

Starbucks is a multinational chain for coffee. This being the largest coffee chain in the
world and having over 300,000 locations around the world. The company selling cold
drinks and hot drinks, serving in more than 70 countries. There are stakeholders in
companies who are after a higher wage and on top of that, wanting to work in good
working conditions. For Starbucks it is a success that the company prioritize their
employees and give them higher than minimum wage. It shows that the business takes
their workers into account. Stakeholders therefore will have a positive effect; they will be
able to send feedback if they think there is a section which needs improving on. It would
be good for the company to give feedback which is constructive so their employees are
able to improve and grow. The environment has been affected by the company using
