My artist: Nandipha Mntambo
1.1 Nandipha Mntambo is a contemporary South African visual artist known for her
innovative and thought-provoking works. She was born in 1982 in Swaziland and grew
up in South Africa. Mntambo's early exposure to diverse cultures and landscapes in
these regions greatly influenced her artistic vision.
Mntambo completed her undergraduate studies in Fine Arts at the University of Cape
Town in 2005. She then pursued a Master's degree in Fine Arts from the prestigious
Wimbledon College of Arts in London, graduating in 2007. During her studies, Mntambo
developed a deep interest in exploring the intersection between human and animal
forms, using various mediums to convey her ideas.
