1. What issue do you think is most pressing in terms of advocacy for ELLs?

I think the most pressing issue in advocating for English Language Learners (ELLs) is
ensuring equitable access to quality education and support for these students.

2. What steps do you plan to take in the short term and long term to advocate for
your students on this issue? 2 short term steps and 1 long term step.

Short term steps to advocate for ELLs include:
a. Collaborating with colleagues: In the short term, I will work closely with my
fellow educators to share best practices, resources, and strategies for supporting ELLs.
By building a supportive network within the school, we can collectively address
immediate student needs.
b. Communicating with parents and caregivers: I will engage with ELL students'
families to foster a better understanding of their unique needs and to involve them in
their child's education. This will help create a more inclusive learning environment in
the short term.

For the long term, I plan to:
c. Pursue further education and certifications: I will consider obtaining an ESL
(English as a Second Language) endorsement or certification to enhance my expertise
in supporting ELLs. This long-term step will enable me to better advocate for ELLs
and provide more specialized assistance in the future.


3. Professional development is an important part of providing high-quality instruction
for MLLs. What plans do you have to continue your professional growth after you
have finished your master's program? 2 specific plans you have. Explain why you
have chosen these plans specifically.


After completing my master's program, I have two specific plans to continue my
professional growth:

a. Attend workshops and conferences: I will participate in workshops and
conferences focused on English language acquisition and culturally responsive
teaching. These events will keep me updated on the latest research, strategies, and
best practices, ensuring I can apply them effectively in the classroom.
b. Mentorship: I plan to seek out a mentor, preferably an experienced ESL teacher,
who can provide guidance and support as I continue to develop my skills. A mentor
can offer practical insights and help me navigate the complexities of working with
Multilingual Learners (MLLs), which will be valuable for my ongoing professional
growth.


 I have chosen these plans because they are essential for my professional
growth after completing my master's program. Attending workshops and
conferences will help me focused on English language acquisition and
culturally responsive teaching is important because they help me stay updated
