Perception is a process in which individuals organize and interpret their sensory impressions in
order to give meaning to their environment.
The way in which we see the reality of the world around us
It is important to the study of OB because people's behaviors are based on their perceptions of
what reality is, not on reality itself.

comparison with other people.
Attribution theory suggests that when we observe an individual's behavior, we attempt to
determine whether it was internally or externally caused.
Internal forces: ability, skill, amount of effort, fatigue
External forces: organizational rules and policies, manner of superiors, weather
