In 2011, Netherlands’s Most valuable brand – the Dutch Icon Royal Philips -- is not performing well.
Philips’ Financial performance flagging since 2000;
- 40% in revenue and net income, and
-61% mean share price.
Frans van Houten new CEO as of April 2011 and he initiates Accelarate! For Philips’ its transformation.
Key question here though, why is Royal Philips not performing well?

circuit and predicted in 1965 that this trend would continue.

Internet +/- 1995 à 3) Mobile phone, PC, PDA, Wi-Fi - Internet of Things +/- 2005 à Intelligent
objects – IOT +/- now.
The Singularity is near – Ray Kurzweil – “Generics, nanotechnology, and robotics will provide a
dramatic increase to human longevity among other profound impacts (2001)”
