· Merck & Co is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. The

· There is a disease called river blindness that has affected over 300,000 people
and there is no safe cure.
· Since it takes $200 million in research and 12 years to bring the average drug
to market and Merck wouldn't make any profit if this drug were to be produced.
After testing they found a drug that could kill the disease
