Shweshwe fabric from Lesotho, and the Bambara people's Mud Cloth from Mali.


First, we will present a selection of textiles, including Kente cloth from the Ashanti
tribe, Shwe Shwe from the Lesotho tribe, and Mud cloth from the Bambara tribe.
We will discuss the materials, production methods, and symbolic meanings
behind the patterns and colors. Learners will take notes and ask questions to
deepen their understanding.

, Next, we will analyze the visual qualities of each fabric using art elements and
design principles. We will discuss color, pattern, texture, and shape, and how
these elements convey meaning and cultural identity. This will help learners
appreciate the artistic value of the fabrics.



To prepare for the showcase, each learner will research and report on a specific
fabric. They will present their findings on the fabric's visual qualities and cultural
