Effective discipline strategies not only address negative behaviors but also promote positive
student development. In my school, implementing a restorative approach has shown promise.
This method focuses on repairing harm and restoring relationships rather than punitive measures
alone. By engaging students in discussions about their actions and involving them in creating
solutions, we've observed a decrease in repeat offenses and an improvement in the overall school
climate. However, there are still challenges, particularly in achieving consistent application
across all staff members. A survey research project can provide valuable insights into students'
perceptions of these disciplinary measures, helping to refine and improve our approaches to
better meet their needs.
