Action: reduces LDL

Fibric Acid Derivatives - gemfibrozil

use: reduces VLDL & triglycerides

action: inhibits breakdown of stored fats, uptake of fatty acids, triglyceride production

adverse effects: N/V, cholelithiasis, inc INR w/ warfarin, GI comp



Nicotinic Acid - niacin

use: reduces VLDL & LDL, triglycerides
