At J&P, we think about employees first. Therefore, we always want to make sure
we are providing the best technology available. One such practice is constantly
adapting to the current technological advancements in the market. Since the
introduction of primarily working from home, it can be challenging to
communicate within our company without the burnout of endless emails. As
Rahul (2021) states, we overcompensate for the lack of in-person connection by
firing off endless messages. Thus, another way to communicate is necessary.
Studies show that Zoom, a communication platform, is a perfect solution to
resolve the communication barrier between our staff. Next, I will first explain
what Zoom is, and then explain how it can benefit our employees at J&P.
Zoom was founded by entrepreneur Eric Yuan in the early days of 2011. Zoom
originated as a simple video communication platform for conferencing
purposes. Through features such as Chat rooms and whiteboards Zoom
became a multiple-level software to optimize productivity, and
communication. Zoom started its transition to a major competitor during
COVID-19, with the sudden rise of employees working from home companies
had to find a solution to the newly created communication and social barriers.
Since then, Zoom has dominated the market providing many applications to
schools and businesses.
This brings us to the justification for why J&P should consider
implementing Zoom to enhance communication within our company. Peter
Simoons quotes, “The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that
it has taken place.” This translates to the effect that emails can be interpreted in
numerous ways, without the presence of face-to-face communication confusion
can form. With the advances in technology such as Zoom, it can help to eliminate
the previous means of communication by enhancing a solution. This enables an
