history and the stories they have are never lost. He is captured and
imprisoned again. (Just after Mohsen and Siamak are chased after). Chooses
Marji as his only visitor; gives Marji a bread swan. Later he is executed "Russian
Spy Executed" it said on newspapers.

close relationship to her. Similar relationship as Marji and her
grandmother. He listens to her, and does not judge her. In the
beginning of the story he could come and speaks to her every night. As
she grows up, she begins to lose faith, especially after Anoosh's
execution.
