Advertising agency/role of an advertising agency - An advertising agency is business that
carries out advertising services for companies, and they get paid from the clients for the
services that they provide. The advertising agency plans the advertisements, they create
them, and they sometimes carry out other promotional activities for their clients. The
advertising agencies also figure out and make decisions on where the advertising will take
place as well as how it will be delivered.
The agencies usually have specialist in each field working for them, so the agency is able to
provide services for different clients with different needs, those that sell products aimed at
different target market/customers. They analyse the target market/customers of their
clients so the advertising is effective and helps the clients, who are other businesses to gain
more customers. An advertising agency will help create al the promotional materials that
Apple needs to promote their IPhone X, this will give apple time to focus on other aspects
and let the agencies work with the campaigns.
Full service agency - Full service agency handle all parts of advertising and marketing. This
includes strategic planning, the production involved in it, the creativity parts and the
innovations, they also marketing on the internet. They are mostly helpful with companies
creating campaigns to send particular messages. Some of the aspects of a business that they
handle are trade promotions, internet marketing. Businesses hiring these agencies to carry
out these services gives them more time to focus on other aspects of the organisation. Full
service agencies are specialist in many different areas of marketing, so companies are
looking for multiple services would benefit the most from using these.
A full service advertising agency would carry out many different services for Apple when
they want to promote the IPhone X. For example, they will help create the graphic design of
advertisements, such as the TV ads for the IPhone X, as well as the designs of the billboard
ads. They also will manage social media, such as posting photos and descriptions of the
IPhone X. A full service agency will also with website developments, radio advertisements,
the production of everything etc. A full service agency would have been the most useful for
the promotional campaign of the IPhone X, as Apple is a large company, so they promote on
many different locations such from social media to billboards.
Limited service agency - A limited service agency provides limited amount of services to
their clients, hence the name. They are the opposite of a full agency service. The services
that they provide are selected by the client. They provide service in one particular area,
which means they are only specialist in that area instead of many different types of services.
Companies that are only looking for services in one area would benefit the most from hiring
a limited service agency. Apple would have used a limited service agency to promote the
IPhone X if they only wanted one type of service.
For example, if the full service agency that they hired did not provide one of the services, or
if they wanted people with more experience and expertise in one area they would hire a
limited service agency. For instance a limited service agency that only focuses on the social
media to promote the IPhone X. These agencies would be experts in the social media area,
and will create an effective promotional material on social media such as Facebook and
