,Our people are our Workforce profiles (age, This has definitely an

an inclusive workplace. It’s myself. It’s important that

Task 2
Their goal is to be a fair partner to their employees, to act with integrity and respect
towards everyone who contributes towards their success. H&M should be a place
where everyone feels valued and are able to develop.
In other words, Human Resources continue to build the success of their company by
developing and encouraging their employees to reach their full potential.
Overall Policy and Values: H&M’s website indicates that their objective is to be a
good employer, including in those countries whose laws and regulations fall short of
their own requirements. To quote the Head of HR “In order to meet people’s
expectations of H&M as an attractive employer, the company develops global guide
lines on diversity, equal rights and against discrimination” (AR1 2008). At H&M, HR
activities are guided by a fundamental respect for the individual. This applies to every
aspect from fair wages, working hours and freedom of association to the opportunity
for growth and development within the company. This also indicates that the
company has specific policies for areas such as Equal opportunity, Managing
diversity, and Employee development, Health and Safety, among others.

If H&M happens to have a labor shortage they would be in a lot of problems such as
loss of profit take the flared pants as example, there’s a lot of question about those
pants that were a big hit in the 70s, a retail store such as H&M needs to have a big
amount of pants in order to keep their customers happy. Same goes with the
seasons, it’s now winter and there are a lot of customers coming to the H&M for
coats and puffer jackets. H&M needs to have a large stock of coats but also need to
have accessories that go with puffer jackets such as: scarves, gloves, beanies etc.
they place those ‘’winter items” at the A-area to attract customers to it. When it’s
Summer, they need to have a lot of t-shirts, skirts and bikinis. It’s important for an
international retail company to have a lot of storage for your most popular items, they
need to have at least a large amount of different sizes.

, H&M does make use of cheap labor countries to produce in such as Far East
including China, Indonesia and Cambodia; South Asia including Bangladesh, Europe,
Middle East and Africa. H&M has published a full public list of the names and
addresses of its supplier factories. The map and full list are linked below:
https://sustainability.hm.com/en/sustainability/downloads-resources/resources/
supplier-list.html

They make use of these cheap labor countries to spend as little money on the
producing as possible. This saves them a lot of money and helps them to produce
more and more for as little as possible. Unfortunately, child labor is still happening
within these factories.

H&M is a very big company that needs a lot of people working there to keep the store
clean and organized. We had our internship there and it seems that they’re always in
need of more people. H&M has four different departments: Ladies Divided, Ladies,
Men & Children. Some big H&M stores also have a ‘’Home’’ department. Each
department has a least 6 people that work there, on a regular day you start with 5
people and end with at least 3 people. H&M looks for people that have a good sense
of fashion, are hard-working and are motivated to do better and to learn more. You
can start working at H&M when you’re 15 years old, you start as a part-time and
eventually can get a full-time job.

Task 3
Labour and government
H&M is one of the most popular fashion brands. It’s the second largest retailer in the
world and operates in 62 countries. H&M has promised to become 100% climate
positive and they want to use Rene.

H&M’s standards and policies are to achieve sustainability vision for their customers.
A general rule is that all H&M suppliers and business partners must follow the
national laws in the countries that H&M operates. H&M does not accept child labour.
H&M does not employee people under the age of 15. The company needs to make
necessary measures to make sure that the employment under the age of 15 is not
happening. The age of retirement in Europe is 65 years. H&M opened a pop-up
store in Sambil, a mall on Curacao. H&M isn’t popular on Curacao because there is
a lot of poverty there. The taxation on Curacao is since January 1, 2003 a rate of
30% of corporation tax applies to all non-exempt companies plus a 15 % municipal
surcharge, making it an effective rate of 34,5 %. A participation exemption applies to
dividend and capital gains income if the Curacao Company holds at least 5 %. The
overseas is a bare minimum to 10 and to a business company like H&M.
