As stated by Mossler, psychosocial development is defined as “changes in personality,
social interaction, and understanding of emotion” (2014).The duration of this paper will be
focused on psychosocial activities and how it develops children from their early childhood to
their adolescent years. The psychosocial activities are to help children learn the emotional and
social behaviors needed to help develop and grow. The infant activity will be self-recognition,
early childhood room will be sensory activities, and for the adolescent room they will have group
meetings.
Infancy Room
When it comes to infants, self-recognition is one important part of their young lives and it
helps with their social and emotional development. One self-recognition activity will let teachers
use mirrors in the classroom. Using mirrors will help not only help the infant look at themselves
but it will also let them look at themselves when they are babbling, standing, or crawling. As
stated in our textbook, “An important aspect of this development is that of the self, which is a
conceptualization of how we evaluate our thoughts and attitudes about ourselves” (Mossler,
2014). The teachers will help the children learn about themselves and how they can become
more self-aware of their body and its movements.
Early Childhood Room
In this classroom, the teachers will help the children to explore their five senses. The
teachers will do so by using a sensory table. The classroom will have one sensory table and every
so often the teacher will change the contents of the stable to help the children explore the
different senses. Some examples of the contents can be musical shakers to help them learn how
to hear, cooked and colored spaghetti for touch, at a table we can taste lemons. According to
