P2: OUTLINE THE ARRANGEMENTS FOR PROVIDING QUALITY CARE FOR
LOOKED-AFTER AND YOUNG PEOPLE

In this task I will be explaining the arrangements for providing quality card for
looked-after children and young people with an explanation of each one of them.
Organisation of Care provision
Care for children and young people is provided by multiple agencies. These
organisations cover the four countries of the united kingdom.
The central government, Local Authorities and Third sector which consists of:
- The voluntary sector
- Independant providers
- Charitable organisations

•The central government
The department and services within the central government include:
-The department of health
-National health service (NHS)
-National service framework for children,Young people and Maternity services

•Local authority services
The local authority has a duty to care for children and young people who probably
have become involved in all cases where they are at risk of not being cared for
appropriately.
Local authority service include;
-Integrated service
-Children’s service (LACS-Local Authority Children’s services in England)
-Children’s Trust England

, •The Voluntary Sector
Pre-school provision covers a range of services including volunteer care e.g. carer,
toddler group/play provision) The leaders of these groups will have some training
and there is no legal requirement they should have as long as the parents/carer does
not leave their child.

•Independent providers and Organisations
Usually, private nurseries cater to children from birth to the age of 4. In the early
years, employees are trained, and there may even be employees working towards a
relevant qualification. Childcare arrangements are generally made between the
nursery and the family on an individual basis, as the provisions required may vary.
Based on the number of hours or sessions the kid attends, the family will pay a fee.
Childminders are adequately qualified people who use their own home as the
environment for caring for children and young people. The location and staff involved
are subject to rigorous inspections and must be trained and registered as a child
minder with the local authority. They uphold the concept that "child welfare" is
paramount and are actively involved in increasing the positive support on the
child.Organizations such as Barnado's, the NSPCC and the British Adoption and
Fostering Association are nationally recognized for their work in the care of children
and young people's needs.

Types of services
•Universal- open to all children and young people •Specialist- Specialised services-
