, Question 1: My Reflection
When I registered for ENN1504, I expected it to be easy for me but I was wrong since it gave me
a lot problem and it looked complicated. I hated the module because I’m not patient and if I fail a
subject I just feel like I will never pass it gain and my focus just shift to other things. When I pick
up the ENN504 study guide I just fell asleep knowing I will never pass it again because I obtained
30,s on both assignments. My ideas on this module are, our university should provide learning
lessons for this kind of modules because they are difficult and they require everyday face to face.
After going through this module I can say I love it because at first I never given my self-time to
pick up the ENN1504 study guide and see what it’s all about because I had a thought that even if
I look at it I will still obtain low marks, so I went through it and now I understand all topics of this
module.

I have learnt that one must use her/his own words on every topic on this module and I must
always follow instructions because if I don’t I will fail. What was very surprising for me was to
come across English I thought I ran away from (paper 3 English in high school). Minutes of a
meeting are called agenda in high school and we completed it the very same way we are
completing it in this module. What was very exciting about this module was investigation report,
what I love about this topic is how it strengthen your mind, how it expand one thinking and how it
takes one into another world of critical thinking. I have learnt how to use words in a form of a
paragraph and how to construct them in a way that the reader will be able to understand what I
meant to emphasize.

Now I am able to develop proficiency in English and a range of related communication skills and
strategies in conversation or in a written form or presentation. I have developed effectively, talking,
listening and writing skills as well as using body language to communicate. Good communication
skills enable me to express my own thoughts clearly. The module taught me that in order for me to
succeed in anything, I must be able to collaborate effectively with my colleagues and clients. This
can be in a face-to-face meetings or online discussions. Regardless, teamwork requires me to
encourage, lead and question others as I work toward the same goals. I have learnt to always be
able to identify my audience because the better I know my audience, the more clearly I can
communicate to them. For example, my audience can be a five-year-old child. In this case to
communicate with them effectively, I will write the way I would talk to a five-year-old. It won’t offend
them or insult their intelligence. Instead, it will allow them to process your message easily.
