Art Programs Be Saved?", "Art Programs in Schools Often in Danger of
Being Cut", and "Public School Cuts Music Programs" are all headlines
that you see in the news far too often.
2. Thesis Statement/ Central Purpose: Many experts, and parents,
believe that studying an instrument gives children an advantage in
the development of their intellectual, perceptual, and cognitive skills.
But, it is difficult for their children to achieve this though because of
major cutbacks within school districts that have left students without
music classes.
3. Preview: Today I am going to be talking to you about the importance

effects from learning an instrument, and how easily schools could
incorporate music more into their curriculum without having to have
actual music classes.

education during early childhood development, specifically before the
age of 10.

the cerebral cortex in the brain begins to operate at the same activity
levels as adults; this is the perfect time to introduce children to
instruments because they are so prone to latching onto new material.
