- Fungi are eukaryotic heterotrophs that have cell wall
- Their cell walls contain chitin, a complex carbohydrat
- Except for yeasts, all fungi are multicellular
- Fungi are made up of thin filaments called hyphae
- Each hyphae is only one cell thick
