Introduction

, 3

This portfolio assignment will be based on the many things relating to culture and language identity that I
have learned throughout this module. It will entail details about the many cultures that I have learned and
mastered since I started doing AFL1501. It will elaborate on the use of language and culture and how we
celebrate our African diverse cultures ranging from where I come from, who I identify as and my very own
language and cultural identity despite of where I come from. AFL1501, for me, raised a whole lot of
cultural awareness. As a keen observer I learnt quite a lot through research that had to be done while
doing assignments pertaining to this module. I realised and discovered many aspects of my culture that I
was not aware of. AFL1501 also helped me accomplish an immense self discovery. This portfolio will also
give insight to where I come from (background), my family’s identity and my very own identity.
