PLANNING OF LESSONS
Topics to cover in a lesson plan
Planning is compulsory for each day of your teaching practice. One of the main
aspects of your planning is on how you will present the lessons for the day.
Topics to cover in the lesson plans:
1)Subject: Technology , Topics A): Magnetism and magnetic materials B) Recycling
materials
2) Subject: Life orientation: Topic : Physical movements
3) Subject: Economics And Management Sciences: Topic: entrepreneurship
My aim was achieved because:
General Information
School: Phakama Senior Primary
Date: 04/05/2018 - I reviewed with my students what
Grade: 7 they have learned about
2 magnetism. Encouraged them to
Class size 39 learners 152𝑚
Subject: Technology discuss their experience with
magnets, including experiments
Topic: Magnetism and magnetic materials they have performed.
Duration of lesson: 120 minutes -Learners were able to identify
Planned activities: Investigation, making and different type of permanent
evaluating activities magnets
-I conducted the practical

Magnetism is caused by the
Methods/Teaching strategies/Facilitation behaviour of atoms in a magnet.
styles -I was able to interact with learners
Class Discussion, Questions and answers -I gave questions that learners
session, practical and group work were able respond to.
. -And I brought perfect resources
Teacher’s questions per section which were authentic such as
Four questions per section aluminium, copper, etc which made
Accommodating learners’ questions the lesson more meaning full as
learners were gaining experiential
Assessment: Formal assessment
learning.
1. Formative : Practical investigation
b) Since I have achieved my aims I
2. Summative: Summary test. plan on involving narrative on my
next lesson as a teaching methods
and also games to the lesson more
exciting to learners or take them
outside the classrooms

C) Yes I have achieved all my
objectives as learners showed at

Nickel and some steels
- Metals that are not attracted by magnet \
include : Aluminium, Copper and Brass
Questions I will ask
-Do you agree that the magnetic field is
strongest near the ends of the magnet?
Support your answer?
-which point is the weakest in the magnetic
field?

NB: There will be points that are pertinent to different subjects, e.g. Technology
in Education may have aspects that are just applicable to it as a subject while it
does not feature In Physical Education, Sports and Coaching and even to
Economic and Management Sciences. Please incled these. Your CAPS
document will help you .PLEASE KNOW YOUR CAPS DOCUMENT as you know
your religious guide.

We acknowledge and respect that different areas have their lesson plans;
please use these and add whatever is missing that is on this Tutorial Letter.
Merge the two into one applicable document.

KEEP IN MIND THAT ALL LESSONS PRESENTED SHOULD BE
OPPORTUNITIES FOR LEARNING AND GROWTH OF THE LEARNERS.TEACH
EACH LESSON TO THE VERY BEST OF YOUR ABILITY.
Homework. Write down or attach the homework that you have given for this
lesson. Answer the questions that you have given for your homework. Your
answers are not the blue print but they give direction. How long will it take the
learners to complete the work at home? Will they need any resources or help?
- I will give the learners the following table to match the correct answer at home
1)-Keepers- a) the space in which the magnetic effect is felt
2)-Temporary magnet b) a magnet that keeps its magnetism for long
time
3)-Poles- c) the ends of a magnet, where the magnetic
forces are strongest.

4)-Magnetic field- d) iron bars that are placed between the poles
of permanent magnets to preserve the
magnetic strength by providing paths for
magnetic field lines between opposite poles.

5)Permanent magnet e) an object that is magnetised by a magnetic
field is removed.

it will take learners about 20 minutes to complete the table at home. And they will
require their text book to complete the homework

ALL LESSONS HAVE SPACE FOR ENRICHMENT OF
EITHER THE KNOWLEDGE, THE SKILL OR VALUES.
WATCH OUT FOR THESE AND THEM OPTIMALLY
Skills: research, investigation and experimentation.
Knowledge: Recognise magnetic and non-magnetic
materials.
Values: Patience and tolerance
