Navorsing:
Dit behels die soek na kennis of enige sistematiese ondersoek, sowel as die versameling
van data, feite of inligting om kennis uit te bou.

Opvoedkundige navorsing:
Opvoedkunde-navorsing is ʼn kritiese ondersoek wat gemik is op die inlig van opvoedkundige
oordele en besluite om opvoedkundige handeling te verbeter. Dit is ʼn soort waarde gelaaide
navorsing wat onmiddellik relevansie behoort te hê vir onderwysers en beleidsmakers en is
op sigself opvoedkundig op grond van die gestelde voorneme om ‘in te lig’.
‘n Deeglike, sistematiese ondersoek in enige aspek van die onderwys
insluitende leerders se leerstyle, onderrigmetodes/fasiliteringstrategieë, professionele
ontwikkeling van onderwysers, en klaskamerdinamika.
