On analyzing the “Class Summary Table”, (Fig 1), I concluded that the strengths and weakness of all the students after
averaging their band scores. I found that their strengths were reading and writing(band 7 grade) and their listening and speaking skills
were the much weaker skills (band 5.75 grade.). This thus became the starting point in which to base my lesson.
Which two skills have you chosen to teach in this lesson? Why? (minimum 150 words)
As a results of my conclusion based on the Class Summary Table, I decided that I would improve the learners Speaking and
Listening skills by concentrating on these 2 skills in order to increase their average band grade. The average band grade for both
these skills were 5.75 which were lower than the speaking and reading scores. The IELTS final grade is weighed between the 4
different skills thus it is necessary to focus on the 2 weaker skills in order to improve the band scores of each and thus improve the
final average band score. It is essential that the learners have a good grasp of these 2 weaker skills as they are vital in any
conversation and will be productive in any discussion topic. It is imperative for learners to express ideas clearly, concisely and
confidently. It is for these reasons that I chose to include the 2 weak skills in my lesson.

As a results of the pandemic and now a new threat, monkey pox in its infancy, health and fitness issues are becoming a
major threat to mankind. It is appropriate for me to choose Health and Fitness as my lesson topic instead of work,
