Task 1

1.1

After careful consideration from the hen’s story, I inclined to agree with the first
statement (A).

There is also a saying that “One does not reap where he did not saw”. Which
correctly mean that, if you don’t work you don’t eat.

It is very evident on the Hen’s story that even though he made an attempt to ask for
help, none of the animals were willing to help in producing the bread, no one was
willing to go through the hard work and endurance but suddenly all wants to be part
of the harvest, with that said, there is nothing wrong if the Hen also refuses to share
the products of his harvest to all the animals who similarly refused to be part and
parcel of the production, The Hen is certainly reaping the fruits of his labour.

Ubuntu reciprocated, meaning, is to share the same feelings as someone else, or to
behave in the same way as someone else:

So it is incorrect to suggest that the other animals who were refused to be shared the
bread were not shown Ubuntu, them, themselves were self-denial to the privilege of
this context.

1.2

The story that can be taken from the little Hen’s story is that, refusal to work into
producing that which you would want to benefit from tomorrow is actually self-denial
to reap the products from it. The Hen actually demonstrated in his actions that “If you
don’t help me, I don’t help you”. In reality, what the animals actually failed to realize
is that, by refusing to help in producing the bread they were not actually refusing to
help the Hen, but in fact they were refusing to help themselves, they would have
equally benefited.
